Yummy food, good friends...it couldn't be more perfect!
(my sweet decorations)

For Callaway's first birthday, we wanted to make it into more of a "THANK YOU" dinner rather than a 1 year birthday party--I wasn't planning on going all out (or, knowing me, maybe I was) but we wanted those we loved and who have essentially become our St. George Family to be there. It was a perfect turn out. My sister Kiana and her son Ace flew in the night before just for the bash! That meant the world to me to have them there. Ace cannot stop talking about Callaway and he just loves her to death! It's wonderful to see their relationship growing! But, it was a good day with many friends we love and are so grateful for in our lives.
Thank you for all who came to celebrate this special day with us!!!

Look out world, Callaway is 1!!

I can't believe our sweetest little girl is already a year old! She has brought so much joy and light into our lives that we can't even image a day without her.
Stats: 32 1/2 inches tall
25.7 pounds
has 4 (2 top 2 bottom) teeth.... and another on the top right coming in.
She loves:
to play outside
swim (she usually is trying to make us leave her alone so she can do it on her own)
giving kisses
giving loves but she's not sure of her strength (she is quite a bit taller and bigger than most kiddos her age so she tends to hug till her "hugee" falls down and cries)
waving bye-bye
mac 'n cheese
drinks--just like her mamma and daddy, she would rather drink than eat
SODA
going for rides (in the car, bike, stroller...if she can ride, she's in!)
shoes! (girl after her mamma's heart!)
get messy--daddy's girl!
take baths
TO SING!!!
TO DANCE (I have a dancing queen!!!, she can even get low....don't ask me where she learned that! :D)
meeting new people--she's the most social thing I've ever met!
playing with her best friends
her boyfriends (yes, we know...she has boyfriends--she's kinda a flirt!)
Callaway is mamma's chatter box and mom could not be more proud! She loves to play ball with daddy--he's now taught her to throw the football and to dunk the basketball (it's darling, she'll get a basketball and just stand under the hoop with her arms raised with the ball in hand so daddy can come lift her so she can dunk!). She is an amazing little dancer and if there is any type of music on, her little body gets grooving!!
Note from mom and dad:
Dear Callaway,
We hope you know everyday how much you are loved. You have brought so much love into our home, more than we could have ever imagined. We love watching the world slowing and gradually open up to you. The world is yours, so take every opportunity you can to learn and grow. Mom and Dad will always be there to give you the most opportunities you can but take every chance you get. You may get mad at mom and dad for giving you rules and boundaries but we promise, in the long run they will be beneficial (like not eating rocks or hugging too tight your little buddies). You will always have people around you that love you and will do anything for you. Be strong, be patient with mom and dad (we're learning too) and always know you will forever be loved!! You're amazing Callaway. Remember your potential as a daughter of the most high and remember always that you are His daughter too. Heavenly Father is just as proud and just as amazed at all you do, as mom and dad are. Your parents love you, your Heavenly Father loves you, your Savior loves you, and countless other *wonderful* people in our lives love you. We have been so blessed this past year to have you in our home and we're excited for a hundred more!!
Love you eternally,
Mom and Dad

Vacation!!!

For my work, I have a summer 2 week break. I was sad origionally because Michael was going to have to work but he pulled some strings and he got 4 days off!! I was one happy happy lady! So, we decided to do what is best....go to the closest beach!!! Ahhh, nothing like "beach therapy"!!
Our beach baby!!!
Calli loves her daddy!!!!
This was at Balboa Pier! We took Callaway on her very first ferris wheel ride...yep, Mom was a nervous wreak!!! She LOVED it though!

It was chill, family va-cay that sure rejuvinated all of us!
Our first day in Newport! Ahh, the beach!
And for the second week, I decided to take Callaway with me to Idaho to see my family. I live so far away and I get "family hungry" and just needed a little fix! So, Calli and I loaded up, after coming back from California and headed to Idaho. We had a BLAST jet skiing, going on picnics and four wheeler rides, and dancing with cousins Ace and Brylie! Good family bonding time! I love them all so much and it is extremely difficult to be so far away--so when we see them, we cherish those moments and make fun memories!

Happiness!

We have an update. I went and met with the urologist today. Typically these VUR cases have a severity of 1 to 4 and typically 3's and 4's warrant surgery. Well, good news! Callaway only has a grade 1. This means no surgery, no meds, and no more tests...till a year! For these little ones, a grade 1 and even a grade 2, they grow out of the "problem". As their little bodies mature, so does their insides so he does not suspect any furter complications. If there are any, then we'll take action...until then, yipee!!! Thank you Father in Heaven!
On another happy note, a few weeks ago our doctors office contacted us and said we have been chosen to participate in a photo shoot with 98 East Photography. They are looking to get some pictures of babies and families that are patients at the clinic and asked if we would be willing to participate. YES PLEASE. Free photo session AND I get a free 8x10. No question. Well, the pictures turned out AMAZING!!!!! We are so happy with them!!! For your viewing pleasure:
I cannot believe this little munchkin will soon be one!!! It's crazy and wonderful how much has changed this past year! Our lives are so much more enriched, meaningful, and loving. Each day brings a new adventure and I am so grateful that Callaway came into our home! She has truly made our lives true *HAPPINESS*.
